Well I have had a go at my lyrics and would like musicians ideas for a good tune rather than my very basic one.

Here they are-

The Raven flies through the Hall

From whence we can never recall

From the door's strong oak and out with the smoke

The Raven flies through the hall.

There is warmth and light in the hall

There is Mead and ale in the hall

There is love and play, but these will not stay.

Like the Raven we fly through the hall.

Folk wonder what fate will befall.

We wonder what's outside the hall

But we cannot say, till we pass that way.

With the Raven we fly through the hall

Our women folk, within the hall

Are our reason for giving our all.

Life and love they give, that we all might live.

New Ravens to fly through the hall.

Some say that outside the hall

Our heroes must answer the call.

To be at the fight, when the wolf shall bite

The Raven flies through the hall.

Others they smith and they wright.

Ships, weapons and armour so bright.

Our needs to fulfill, but if the gods will

The nine worlds will be in their sight.

Good folk, they all do their part

To keep us all hale, in good heart.

Theirs is no fame, but their good name.

is helping the gods with their art.

  Our Wyrd we cannot forestall

The three Norns will gather us all.

But we hope we shall, find our own Valhal.

We're the Raven that flies through the hall! |

Good News. Thanks to my neice in the USA I found a good tune for my lyrics.

It was the "Wexford carol" ~12th century. Rewrote lyrics to combine 8 verses into 4. If there are any Asatru out there who are interested I might put up the final version.
