Looked deliberate to me.

I mean there not the fastest fighters in the world but it seemed to me he (the Orc) paused to think about it then did it anyway.

Why he was thrusting with his point that near the open face I can not fathom.

They should have been usig the dummy weapons that the Larpers use.

Mind you, I've seen Mike Pobb catch a black eye out of trying to show Dante how to play nicely with those as well.

I like the way he had the class to turn away from the camera when he was leaking claret. Got him on the eyebrow and up didn't it?

Any word on the LARPers doing a cave fight through Beehive Creek at Easter?

We had a guy come to Ravens with Murray Kennell a few weeks back and he seemed interested.

Conal come on, There is no reason why steel weapons cannot be used to do entertaining and SAFE show fights for an audience.

the guy in the Orc mask was a pillock, i think Bigmac may be right and he did it deliberatly, either out of malice, or a desire to be the winner.

then again it may have been a total brain fart, or the other guy may have moved into a pre arranged thrust, I dont know.

it is horrible no matter what caused it, and i feel for the guy.

i hope the orc's instructor/ captain ripped seven shades of shit out of him

I don't think there was a club trainer involved.

Combats are too loose to have been choreographed or walked through prior.

This looks like a gaming convention stage that a couple of guys have set up with some blades and a funny mask.

Unsafe in a simple context but look at the amount of blade on blade stuff.

Attacking the weapon mostly.

Doesn't look like demo fighting even.

And the sparks early in the piece means that the potential for injury was illustrated very early on.

Nah they were just smacking steel on steel and it went wrong.

Just an opinion.

Why does anyone have to have "let them" do it?

They both made their own decision to participate.
