Yeah and a lot of people wanted a war in Iraq as well, now they are not so sure.... what does this tell us?

well we won't know till it happens and this is the reason i put this post up

so everyone can say yes or no and give reasons why

i mean i grew up on the stories of the war so i would like to have all those who did participate like fungus voice their reasons why we should or should not bring it back

We need to sort out alot of the key issues ie hosts?dates? locations?
DO realy suggest a mass discussion to sort out these points

previous wars were ok but....

War is desirable only to those who have not experienced it.

the drinking afterwards was fun though

The First (true) War (ie the one we won), was a good time had by all. It was simple in concept and execution and most of all was fun.

Now I can not comment on two as I was not present but Three was wrecked by idiotic bickering over rules of engagement and the butting of egos because suddenly peoples pride, prowess and manhood were on the line.

Personally I would have enjoyed it more if the people in question had gone into the bush with a measuring tape and left the rest of us to just have a few battles.

Ten thoughts for runnig a successful War (based on NSW1)

1 Agree on the rules before the day

2 Agree on who is marshaling before the day; take turns or get an inderpendant

3 Set date and venue

4 Recuit team; either whomever you can beg, backmail and conjole or "state of origan"

5 Turn up

6 Have one engagement that is the 'War'

7 Mix up the teams and games until you retire for drinks and food

8 Have fun and let everyone else have fun

9 Be gracious in both victory and defeat

10 Repeat yearly

i like the views people have and heres that word again i AGREE we should all sit down or stand (personal preference) and discuss how it will go

my thanks big mac for your thoughts on what needs to be done

i must admit all i thought happened was everyone turned up had a fight then a good feast afterwards its refreshing to know there can be a check list to ensure fun for all Cool

My overwhelming memory of the third war was the South saying we couldn't use Javelins.... After we had killed 5 (or so) of their guys...

thought it was rather rude saying no to our masterfully well kept secret plan.

Brings a tear to my eye remembering the blue and white Cymry javs flying through the air towards people who seemed to be rather stunned...

Not half as stunned as when they hit 'em in the chests HARHAR!!

Hey... Javs are allowed at NAAMA this year, aye?
