for a coat of plates is canvise a sturdy/ aceptable material to use for over top of the plates?

if so where can i sorce this material?

I would be tempted to either double layer it with an interfacing to hold the layers as one or canvas backing on leather

by interfacing you mean a glue of some kind or what?
leather that plyable is hard to come by in anouf to make a full coat of plate i personly havnt found anywhere i can get suitable leather in a big anouf sheet to do it anyway.
if any1 dose know of a place in the palmy/levin regon ild love to know

Yes.

Ben Sutton had a contact for canvas in Palmy. My contacts are all in the Northern Half, but if you have no luck, let me know and I'll give you the address.

the only place i can find that has canvis in stock is strateline canvas in PN
i know the guys there so geting a good price shouldnt be too hard

try the canvas company online.... they are based in auckland and have very good deals, plenty of stock and courier is free in NZ. A great range of canvas weights as well.

Just a heads up.

If you're going to the canvas company for canvas, you're paying way over the odds for the material.

Try gourock. They have a warehouse in Te Atatu and sell direct to the public.

I go there for canvas, thread and rope. best prices in NZ for most of that stuff.

Untreated 12oz duck is $6.98 per meter at the moment. Don't pay more.

geting to auckland is kinda a small problem lol its a good 600km away
anyway ilv been stumbling around there website and cant find anything on canvas

Most of the stuff on the website is high end marine grade stuff.
