Heh, thanks for the pointer Smile

If any of you have questions about anything on there, or shoes in general, I'm happy to field them.

G'day Grizz,

I do occasionally make shoes for other people, but I'm not going to be in a position to take on any more work until March next year at the earliest. I'm just coming out of a period of not having been able to work on shoes for various reasons and my project queue is embarrassingly backlogged (sorry Callum! You're at the head of it)

As for 15th century riding boots, these are probably the most common thing I get asked if I can make. The answer is technically I could make 'em, there's nothing particularl onerous about the asembly aside from the enormously long back seam. The problem is I haven't quite gotten my head around patterning them so they fit cleanly yet, they're a very strange shape and look really naff if they aren't fitted well.

They are also prohibitively expensive things to make because they have so much leather in them. I won't work in chrome tanned leather, and enough good veg tanned leather of a suitable weight and strength to make those will cost many hundreds of dollars, just for the material.

I will make myself a pair eventually and when I do I'll report back.
