I've been sketching occularia (eye slits) for a bascinet that I want to get. The full size images are at Bascinet eye slit design as well as the 3d .blend file I used to make them (open with Blender, freely downloadable for Windows, Mac, Linux from http://blender.org/). My favourites are 1a (top right) and 2a (the last one). Feel free to use them for any purpose you see fit. Next step is to explore different visor shapes and breaths.

One of Henry VIII's armours had a lovely helm that had two vertical bars that from an opposing persons point of view, his pupils would have been obscured making him look pretty bad ass, will try find a pic, but those renders are all cool man

Thaner, that'd be interesting to see. I wonder if that design was also tried in the 14th century, too.

yeah that kind of style, was slightly thicker bars, and straight cut, i saw it on a doco that i downloaded last night, a seriously good doco, its pretty much armour porn
