Group formation work. Always loved this and could never get enough.
This was one of the reasons why I loved training with the 2nd Legion they are a group who wanted to fight together as a unit.
It doesn't take a lot of work to make a bunch of people work together in formation just a bit of regular training and the right desire to work together.
Start with a simple formation all in a line and get them moving together at the same pace. That's the difficult part as everyone moves at a different pace. Then you can get them to perform more complicated manouerves after that.
Formation work eg pike block or Greek phalanx would look good at a public display.

I'm resurrecting this thread. It seems, for some very pleasant reason, I will be putting my re-enactment hat back on.
I'd personally like to remain aloof from any particular re-enactment group (whether that remains true is another matter), but I would like to propose a monthly session in the Wellington region. One of my bribes would be a cutting party using sharps afterwards.

I am interested in resuming monthly cavalry/infantry training if there is the interest. We had it going well several years ago when Fungus and Grayson were driving the foot combatants but it fell over once they left the area.

Damn everything is hapening in wellington and I'm across the ditch.

I've tentatively spoken to the Company of the Dragon whom seem agreeable. I say tentatively as there are no formal agreements, just an expression of interest.
Given that CoD, the Falcons, Boars and even the SCA seem to have a fixation for the 14th century the logical undertaking would be 14th century units. This primarily means the pike with accompanying relevant two handed weapon (be it halberd, bill, goedendag amongst others).
This is something to be looked at in the new year, but a sufficient level of interest is needed first.
