Mounted Combat Training Near Wellington

Due to some of our members moving to other parts of NZ, we now have some spare horse capacity in the Order of the Boar for 2 people who want to get involved in the equestrian side of the hobby and who already know how to ride well.

If you don't know how to ride but still want to be involved then we also have room for foot crew and foot combatants.

While our focus is on the medieval period we also cover other periods as well including 16th century Anglo/Scots border reivers and WWI New Zealand mounted rifles.

The activities we practice include jousting, mounted archery, mounted skill-at-arms and battle displays.

Our focus for the coming Summer is training additional horses and running training workshops for people as preparation for Harcourt Park 2013 which for us is going to be a big event, being its 10th anniversary.

We train near Upper Hutt on Saturday afternoons and we can provide access to trained horses although a monthly "non-owner" riding fee of $120 applies.
