Hi Guys
just back from Fightcamp, apart from some awful weather it was another great event. Plenty of hard training, some socialising and plenty of new and interesting ideas being tossed about. There were several traders on-site as well as the hosts own shop. My chief supplier of all things medieval, Tods Stuff, Albion Swords(Europe), and The Knights Shoppe with their latest version of the nylon training weapons designed by Dave Rawlings a London WMA instructor. As I still have limited equipment I stuck to unarmed, sword and buckler and walking stick/ umbrella classes. There were plenty of other classes for those so inclined at least 3 versions of longsword, sickle from Mair, military sabre etc. I was most challanged by a 2 part lecture from Scott Brown. He titled them "On Learning" and "On Training" and attempted to give us a sound framework that we could apply, as trainers or students, to the process of developing as martial artists. Having suffered through training, both good and bad, over the years it was a real eyeopener to see basic principles laid out so clearly and simply.
