Hi all,

After a review of the Western Martial Arts forum, we have decided to restructure it slightly. We've given it a new name (Historical Combat) to bring it more into line with the other forums on GD, making it more mainstream.

This was done to widen the scope of this forum and recognise the work that many clubs are doing with Historically based training syllibuses and efforts to incorporate genuine historical techniques into their existing combat style. Combined with the wealth of discussion already occuring around more pure forms of WMA, we hope this will encourage a wider discussion base and knowledge transfer.

That said, if you are not sure whether or not your clubs training is historically based, then it is probably not and shouldn't be discussed here unless you're looking for ways of incorporating historical teachings - see the Reenactment Combat forum.

I look forward to many more enlightling and educated discussions on this topic in the future.

Regards,
Nigel Thomas
