how orthentic is a body made up with a steel chest plate + backplate theat only cover to the bothom of ya ribs "ish" then then leather body from there down to hips "ish"?
how ok is this in medieval turms? im just not sure itld be aceptid as medieval armour? semmi king henry the 8th style
please post any thorts on this kind of armour

| I've seen them the other way - steel lower half of breastplate with gambi / leather on the top not sure about the other way up - normally medieval breastplates have the lower half overlapping the upper (probably origionally a cavalry thing...). Did see one kinda like you describe at NAAMA a couple of years ago - anyone else remember that one? |

Lower half metal, top half brigandine or heavy jack. Okay.
Not the other way though, sorry. That's not one I've ever seen come up.

Never heard of it either.
the point of a breastplate or any chest armour is to protect the heart.
Dont think leather would do all that much against the medieval weapons of the time.
Leather vs mace. yikes
