"Name that garment"! A quizz game....

I follow the SCA 12th century Garb list... this has come up as a game to play.
Since I think it is a really fun idea I'm passing it on....
I do C12th - So I'll start it off... with - 'Gunna'.... Add your bit and pass it on...
Gunna... Undergarment - generally linen or silk, long sleeves, keyhole neck line. 'Terms for under garment, gunna and kyrtle probably continued in use by Anglo Saxons, especially since they travel down through time to us, somewhat changed by fickle fashion in 900 years, to 'gown' and 'skirt'. The French courtly terms of bliaut, cote, chemise also travel to the future as 'blouse', 'coat' and the unchanged chemise. Throw into the mix that the chroniclers and record keepers kept track of such things in latin. The word for roba and tunicam also are still with us in 'robe' and 'tunic'. So, in essence, there seem to be words that have the same meanings in multiple languages all being used at the same time.'
