Hi Gregor. There is an archery store in Whangarei, also called Arrowhead Archery, strangely enough. They sell traditional type bows (that is: modern fibreglass laminated recurves & longbows), but ...

Hi Gregor,
Thanks for that, that's a great site. You'll find stuff on Youtube from the same crowd, making atlatls and stuff. I do like wooden bows, that is when they're not exploding and hitting me ...

Hi Frosty, I know who you're refering to. A very nice guy and calling him "keen" is putting it mildly! He was trying to get a chapter of the English Warbow Society going up here but then opted for fo ...

Hi Nigel. I got the heatshrink (10mm) from Jaycar Electronics. They have a store in upper Taranaki St. in Wellington.
If I can find someone from this area who is going to the Easter camp I'll ask the ...

Hi Nigel. There may be something in the heatshrink idea. I just covered an arrow (one of the POC shafts you supplied) 1/2 with Scotch reinforced fibre tape, the other 1/2 with clear heatshrink, and b ...

Hey Nigel, great article, very clear and well written. The only thing I would have added was the importance of positioning the nock on the shaft so that the grain of the wood is at right angles to the ...

Is it recommended to post home phone numbers on the forum? I seem to be having difficulty replying to people's enquiries to my bow ad via e-mail. I'd be happy to post my number for local peop ...

Hi Stuart. I think I'll first try using 3x 4" uncut feathers and see how they go. From what I saw at our shoot in Henderson a few weeks ago I think the "bottle brush" fletching may be TOO efficient! T ...
